Rob's Airport Connection is a Private Hire business based in the Astley M29 area, Manchester UK. Our catchment area includes Astley, Tyldesley, Leigh, Atherton, Mosley Common and Boothstown, although I am happy to quote for pickups from or dropoffs to other areas.

My name is Rob Ramsay and I have lived in Wigan since 1992, having arrived in the UK a year earlier from my native Cape Town. I moved to Astley in 2008. I took early retirement a few years ago and have started the Private Hire work a) "to keep me out of mischief" and b) to indulge my love of driving while hopefully providing a service to the local community.

I specialise in Airport Transfers to and from Manchester (MAN) and Liverpool John Lennon (LPL) airports, but in fact I will serve any UK airport however far afield.

I am currently doing return transfers to Manchester Airport from the local area (M29 7) for £50. The one-way fare is £25. If you are outside this postcode area, I will give you a very competitive quote nonetheless. (I will beat any genuine quote.)

Liverpool John Lennon (LPL) is £60 return, £30 one-way.

Unfortunately the airports are now charging for Dropping off and Picking up. Currently Manchester Airport charge £3 for Dropping off and £4.50 arrival Pickups at the airport.  Liverpool have a £4 charge for both Dropping off and Picking up.

Both airports do have a free Drop-off option: at Manchester this means waiting for the shuttle bus coming round to Jet Park 1 for a free lift to the terminals. At Liverpool, the free drop off area is a good walk from the terminal... unfortunately this is not under cover.

As I work to tight margins, I unfortunately these charges are in addition to the fares quoted above.

On your return, I follow the online Live Flight Tracking to check your actual landing time. This allows me to meet you on time even if your flight lands early or is delayed.

If you arrive back in the wee hours, I can get you some fresh milk/bread, so that you can enjoy that first cuppa on your arrival at home. If I forget to offer, please ask!!

I am licensed through Wigan Council and I am fully insured for Private Hire work, including Public Liability insurance. I use a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle  which is licensed to take up to four passengers. I have baby, toddler and booster seats in case they are needed for younger passengers.

My aim is to remove the stress from the beginning and end of your holiday or business trip, by arriving promptly on pickup time and getting you to your destination safely and on time, for a reasonable price.
